Workshop Registration Fee
The workshop registration fee is $250 (USD). The fee includes all accommodations and meals. Accommodations for all participants are reserved at the Puchner Castle Hotel in Bikal, Hungary. Depending on individual needs, further accommodations may be arranged in the nearby city of Dombóvár. Key speakers will receive a full reimbursement of the registration fee. Participants will receive partial reimbursements.
Posters: Poster presentations will be given in the evenings.
Postprints: Presentations of the workshop will be published in a book as part of the NATO ASI series
Time-Table
- Arrival: Sunday, June 20, 1999.
- Beginning of scientific sessions: Monday, 21, 1999, 9 AM.
- End of scientific sessions: Thursday, June 24, 1999, 6 PM
- Departure: Friday June 25, 1999.
- Presentations are arranged in morning and afternoon sessions.
Social programs include:
- hike to the Márévár medieval mountain castle ruin
- tour of the city of Pécs
- organ concert in the basilica of Pécs
- wine-tasting tour in the Villány region
Location
The conference is held at the Puchner Castle Hotel (shorn on right) in Bikal, Hungary. Bikal is a quiet, remote, small village in rural Hungaryideal for undisturbed, intense scientific discussions. The hotel is a newly remodeled small palace with comfortable rooms, bar, fine restaurant, swimming pool, sauna, bath house, tennis court, playground.

Transportation
- Air, via Budapest. Budapest, the capital of Hungary is conveniently accessible via air through major carriers (Delta, KLM/Northwest, British Airways, MALEV-Hungarian Airlines, etc.).
- Train. Pécs, the major commuter city near Bikal is accessible by train. Intercity trains commute between Budapest (Southern Railway Station/"Déli Pályaudvar") and Pécs every few hours. The Southern Railway Station is conveniently reached from the Budapest airport (Ferihegy) by Airport Shuttle service. Participants arriving by train to Pécs will be picked up at the railway station and transported by complimentary bus service to Bikal.
- Car. Major car rental companies are represented in Budapest and in Pécs. Please, refer to the detailed maps on our website on the location and accessibility by car of Bikal.
- Local transportation. Arrangements are made for local transportation in and around Bikal for the duration of the workshop. The arrangements include transportation between Bikal and Dombóvár (for those staying in Dombóvár, as needed) and transportation to/from the social-program venues.
