Dr. Babak Nikoobakht's current research is focused on the study of optical and electrical properties of one-dimensional nanocrystals. The objectives are developing: 1) Platforms containing addressable nanocrystals for metrology at nanoscale, 2) methods for measuring chemical/physical properties of individual and ensemble of nanocrystals and exploring their new or enhanced properties. This is carried out by utilizing electron and optical microscopies along with tools for electrical characterization.
