NIST ITS-90 Thermocouple Database

Reference functions for the letter-designated thermocouples may be found in the NIST ITS-90 Database.

Home page of the NIST ITS-90 Thermocouple Database:

The user may view tables and reference function coefficients on-screen, or download tables and coefficients as text files.

This database reproduces selected tables of NIST Monograph 175,

"Temperature-Electromotive Force Reference Functions and Tables for the Letter-Designated Thermocouple Types Based on the ITS-90," by Burns, Scroger, Strouse, Croarkin, and Guthrie.

These reference functions have been adopted as standards by the American Society for Testing and Materials and the International Electrotechnical Commission. All temperatures in the database are given on the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90).

Tables for other thermocouple types may be found in ASTM standards E 988 (tungsten-rhenium alloys) and E 1751 (a variety of specialized types, including gold versus platinum).
