X-RAY CRYSTALLOGRAPHY

X-Ray Crystallography

Active programs are underway to obtain, using X-ray crystallography techniques to obtain the structures of prototypical proteins, enzymes, enzyme-substrate complexes and model DNA systems. Recently, efforts in structural genomics have been undertaken with the goal of using the three-dimensional structure in assisting functional assignment for proteins with unknown biological roles. Another program emphasizes studying the structures of enzymes along the chorismate biochemical pathway.
